Climate and soil requirement:
Jamun fruit requires well-draining soil, rich in nutrients having a pH range of 6.5 to 7.5. However, loamy soil with a little sand is ideal for the plant. Jamuns are quite hardy and can easily survive the waterlogged and saline condition. As the trees are native to the Indian Subcontinent, the subtropical and the tropical climate becomes ideal for them. The plants may need a dryer temperature while flowering and fruiting. Early rains can prove beneficial for the growth of the plant. Jamun plants need a large amount of water to prosper well, especially during the early growth, where they require frequent irrigation. However, you can lessen the frequency of irrigation as the plant grows.
