Climate and soil requirement

Guava is successfully grown in tropical and subtropical climate, It is hardy, which can be grown in various types of soils including shallow, medium black and alkaline soil. The quality of the fruits is better in areas having distinct winters, Mature trees of most varities are fairly cold-hardy and can survive temperatures slightly colder than −4 °C (25 °F) for short periods of time, but younger plants will likely freeze to the ground.

Land preperation  

Pit size of 60x60x60 cm,  Standard spacing is 6 m x 6 m. This accommodates 112 plants per acre. It is good practice to add composts such as leaf compost or manure while planting.
